Mesha DeVeaux
Talent Acquisition Manager
Starting with ICON International in 2007 as a Travel Coordinator within the Travel and Merchandise Department, Mesha has always had a love for customer care and pleasing others. She managed all travel bookings for the Company’s employees and clients as well. In 2012 her husband was relocated and unfortunately had to move out of state. Fast forward to 2018, when Mesha was re-hired to return to ICON who has been repeatedly named Best Places to Work and Top Workplaces.
Mesha’s positive attitude, fun loving personality and devotion to ICON earned her a spot within the Human Resources Team in 2021 as Talent Acquisition Manager.
Most People Don’t Know That… Mesha doesn’t see ICON as a company, she sees it as her extended family.
Since rejoining ICON, Mesha heads the recruitment component of the company. One crucial part of her return to the company was to launch ICON’s Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion program. In this role, she’s been a natural at DE&I Recruiting. The number of diverse employees has increased to 47% and that percentage is subjected to grow within the upcoming years. Mesha has a simple strategy: Sharing her own story when connecting with new prospects at job fairs and during candidate interviews. “For our entry-level positions, I love to communicate to our potential candidates to never give up and there is room for Everybody in Corporate America. I especially love working with alumni from the Boys and Girls Club and Jeter Leaders. It allows me to become sort of a mentor to potential candidates. Since starting as a recruiter from ICON, we have been able to bring in and hire college grads from both organizations as well as provide internships.
Mesha currently has a Sophomore in College who plays collegiate basketball who is a Boys & Girls Club Alumni as well as a six-year-old son. Her kids are her WORLD. Mesha loves to travel and helps with ICON sponsored events that we host multiple times a year. Seeing new body of blue ocean water has always been a passion of hers!
